This course, taking place in Faro, 27th to 29th of October, is directed to scientists and technicians interested in learning more about AUVs in order to perform missions to observe the ocean, map the seafloor for biological or engineering purposes, detect objects underwater and more. The course was prepared in the user perspective, not in the developer perspective. Thus, deep knowledge of robotics, signal processing or other specialties are not needed.

The course is structured as an intensive three-day program designed to gain knowledge and hands-on experience with conducting AUV missions. The course will cover AUV basics, how to plan missions, how to navigate in the water and will also include one full day field exercise where participants will have the opportunity to plan and deploy their real mission using an AUV.
